Other pans do not fit very well. When you're shelling peas you don't want to be held up by an ill fitting receiving pan. This Little Pea Sheller Pan is custom made to fit properly underneath the tray.

From personal experience I can tell you being able to hot swap out pans is a VERY BIG deal! When you're in a rhythm, you don't want to have to stop to dump the pan and put it back in place. Having a 2nd pan allows you just to pull out the full pan and quickly replace it with an empty pan and you're back in operation!

Pros: The service is great! Two pans really makes a big difference, and if one breaks you'll be ok.

Cons: Cheap plastic that breaks very easily. Only pan that works.

Our pea sheller is over 15 years old. It used to come with a nearly unbreakable pan. These new pans crack if you drop them. The problem is there is no other pan that fits properly. I've tried cutting pans that were too tall but it just doesn't work. I would give these pans only two stars but the service from this company is exceptional. I ordered one and it cracked two days later. So I bought one more and the sales rep sent me two. I've taped up the old one in case of emergency, but it won't last very long under any use.
