This corn cutter is just old-fashioned high tech. Don't be fooled by the cheaper wood and plastic imitations!
Gosh, the stories I get from customers who bought a knock-off! One
insisted they bought it from me so I sent her a Lee's Corn Cutter and she sent
in a check and apology. The blades on the knock-off's have a tendency to
easily bend and break.
The Original Lee's Corn Cutter started being manufactured in the 1930's and continues today with high quality wood and parts.
I remember as a young child watching my mom use these very Lee's Corn Cutters and now here I am a
leading sales dealer for them!
Lee's Corn Cutter can be adjusted for whole kernel or (my favorite) cream-style
corn. The whole kernel corn can have extra juice from the cob (the way I
like it) or be adjusted to just cut the kernels.
Lee's Corn Cutter Best Preparation technique
First, blanch corn for five minutes, then cool rapidly in cold, cold ice water
bath for about 5 more minutes. I prefer to hold Lee's Corn Cutter over a
bowl but up against a wall for leverage.
Adjust Lee's Corn Cutter edges to the desired height to cut kernels clean off
or
cream-style, scraping all the delicious juice as well as the kernels. I
recommend getting two. One to set for cream-style and one for whole
kernel.
Wooden-Lee's Corn Cutter
Stainless steel corn cutters can
get a little cold to touch and not nearly as comfortable as the wooden version.
